‘Rashtra Pratham – 82 Varshon ki Swarnim Gatha’ is a book narrating the
history of CRPF since its raising in 1939.
The book – ‘Rashtra Pratham – 82 Varshon Ki Swarnim Gatha’ (Nation First –
The Golden Story of 82 Years) is compiled by Delhi University historian Dr
Bhuwan Kumar Jha — was described by CRPF as a symbolic tribute to the force
veterans on the first-ever CRPF Veterans Day, which, starting this year, shall be
celebrated on the third Friday of February each year.
The book – ‘Rashtra Pratham – 82 Varshon Ki Swarnim Gatha’ (Nation First –
The Golden Story of 82 Years) will become a source of inspiration for many
years for new personnel joining CRPF.

Recently Japan become the first in Asia to appoint a Minister for Loneliness
Japan has appointed its first Minister for Loneliness this month after the country’s
suicide rate increased for the first time in 11 years during the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to The Japan Times, Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga added a minister of
loneliness to his Cabinet earlier this month, following the example of the UK,
which in 2018 became the first country to create a similar role.
Japanese government also created an “isolation/loneliness countermeasures
office” within the cabinet on February 19 for issues such as suicide and child
poverty — which have risen during the pandemic. The country has recorded more
than 426,000 Covid-19 cases and 7,577 deaths according to souces.
Suicide is considered a major social issue in Japan. In the year 2017, the country
had witnessed seventh highest suicide rate in the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

Indian government, Government of Nagaland and the World Bank recently signed a $68 million
project to enhance the governance of schools across Nagaland as well as to improve teaching

The “Nagaland: Enhancing Classroom Teaching and Resources Project” will improve classroom
instruction, create opportunities for the professional development of teachers and build
technology systems to provide students and teachers. About 150,000 students and 20,000
teachers in the government education system in Nagaland will benefit from the state-wide
reforms in schools.
Nagaland currently faces challenges of weak school infrastructure, lack of opportunities for the
professional development of teachers and limited capacity on the part of communities to
partner effectively with the school system. Such an integrated approach will complement
conventional delivery models and help ease the challenges posed by Covid-19.

regulator DGCA to operate international flights from the facility. International flights
from Kushinagar airport in Uttar Pradesh will start soon & it has become 3rd licensed
international airport of UP
The Union Cabinet had in June last year approved the Kushinagar airport’s status as an
international facility, stating it will offer improved connectivity to the important
Buddhist pilgrimage site. Once this airport begins operating international flights, it will
become third functional international facility in the state.
At present two international airports — Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport
at Lucknow and Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport at Varanasi — are

Centre has signed an agreement with Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank is a
multilateral development bank (AIIB) for borrowing $304 million to improve
power transmission network in Assam.
The fund will be utilised for the ”Assam Intra-State Transmission System
Enhancement Project”, aiming to improve reliability, capacity and security of the
power transmission network in the state. The total estimated cost of the project is
$365 million, of which $304 million will be financed by the AIIB and rest by Assam.
Assam is currently witnessing energy deficit, specially in peak hours & it is main
reasons for this is congestion of electricity distribution and transmission networks.
The Assam Electricity Grid Corporation Ltd (AEGCL) is responsible for operation,

National Urban Digital Mission (NUDM) is launched to create a digital infrastructure for cities in
the country. This will institutionalise a citizen-centric and ecosystem-driven approach to urban
governance and service delivery in cities by 2022, and across all cities and towns by 2024.
Other initiatives were also launched at the event like India Urban Data Exchange (IUDX),
SmartCode, Smart Cities 2.0 website, and Geospatial Management Information System (GMIS)
‘India Urban Data Exchange (IUDX)’ has been developed in partnership between the Smart Cities
Mission and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru. IUDX serves as a seamless interface
for data providers and data users, including ULBs, to share, request, and access datasets related
to cities, urban governance, and urban service delivery,
The NUDM will create a shared digital infrastructure that can consolidate and cross-leverage the
various digital initiatives of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, enabling cities and towns
across India to benefit from holistic and diverse forms of support, in keeping with their needs

The rebuilt stadium is a part of the proposed, sprawling Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
Sports Enclave, which includes the world’s largest cricket stadium, a natatorium
(indoor swimming pool), facilities for athletics and track and field sports, a football
stadium, a field hockey and tennis stadium, indoor sports halls and arenas,
velodrome/ skating area, and outdoor fields. The enclave is spread in over 220 acres
on the Sabarmati river bank in the north east area of Ahmedabad.
The President laid the foundation stone for the sports enclave along with the
inauguration of the rebuilt cricket stadium.
