• Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR): The number of deaths of women per 100,000 live births due to any cause related to or aggravated by pregnancy or its management (excluding accidental or incidental causes).
• Infant Mortality Rate (IMR): The number of deaths of infants per 1,000 live births.
• Child Mortality Rate (CMR): The number of deaths of children under the age of 5 per 1,000 live births.
• Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM): A life-threatening condition that occurs when a child's body does not have enough nutrients to function properly. It is characterized by a low weight for height, wasting, and/or oedema.
• Neonatal mortality rate (NMR): This is the number of deaths of children within the first 28 days of life per 1,000 live births.
• Postneonatal mortality rate (PNMR): This is the number of deaths of children between 28 days and 5 years of age per 1,000 live births.
• Under-5 mortality rate (U5MR): This is the number of deaths of children under the age of 5 per 1,000 live births.
