Inland Waterways Authority of India signed a pact with MOL Group for transportation
of LPG.
Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) will provide support for, facilitating with
adequate fairway, handling of LPG cargo on IWAI terminals or Multimodal Terminals at
Haldia, Sahibganj and Varanasi.
Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) is the statutory authority in charge of the

Ministry of Sports has recently restored recognition of Gymnastics Federation of India
Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has decided to restore the recognition of the Gymnastics
Federation of India (GFI) as a National Sports Federation (NSF)
In a letter to the GFI president, the Sports Ministry mentioned that the elections of two office
bearers — Sudhir Mittal (President) and Kaushik Bidiwala (Treasurer) — for the term 2019- 2023
have been taken on record of the Ministry.
The letter also mentioned that the decision on the acceptance of the election of S Shanti Kumar
Singh as general secretary will be taken after Manipur High Court’s judgment in the writ petition
filed by S Shanti Kumar Singh.
The Sports Ministry said the office bearers of the federation shall invariably be appointed by
election as per the Model Election Guidelines issued by the Ministry.
The Sports Ministry also warned that the recognition may be withdrawn if any of the terms and
conditions of the recognitions are violated or its own constitution is violated.

In Karnataka ‘Namma Cargo’ services has been launched recently.
As part of its revenue mobilization efforts, the transport department is venturing into the parcel
and cargo business and Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa launched the new services in Bengaluru
recently.
Around Rs 100 crore as annual income from the new operations will generate. Currently, three
transport corporations — Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), North Western
Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) and North Eastern Karnataka Road Transport
Corporation (NEKRTC) — have been generating Rs 35 crore by transporting luggage.
Strategic Outsourcing Private Limited will be the business facilitator for five years and the
transport department is providing space to the company to set up its parcel counters at bus
stands, Savadi said. Customers will have to book their parcels at the booking counter at the bus
stands and the department has also started a 24×7 call centre (1800-208-5533) to address any
issues related to parcel and cargo service.
Plan to expand operations in a phased manner and also to provide ‘doorstep services’ in some
select cities in the next stage. In the first phase, the facility is being provided in 88 bus stations
in the state and 21 bus stations outside the state

Countdown for the launch of PSLV-C51/Amazonia-1 mission commenced
on Saturday from Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota in Andhra
Pradesh. The launch is scheduled on 28th February at 10:24 am,” Indian
Space Research Organisation (ISRO) informed.
Primary satellite Amazonia-1 of Brazil and 18 co-passenger satellites
onboard the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C51) are scheduled to be
launched from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) Sriharikota Range
(SHAR), the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) further informed.
Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-C51), which is the 53rd mission of
PSLV, will launch Amazonia-1 of Brazil as primary satellite and 18 copassenger satellites will lift off from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre

    Territorial television in India started with the experimental telecast starting in Delhi on 15 sep 1959 with a small transmitter and a makeshift studio.Daily transmission began in 1965 as a part of All India Radio(AIR). Television service was later extended to Bombay and Amritsar in 1972.
