There is a great difference in the lifestyle among people living in villages and cities and has their own advantages and disadvantages.
- Cities have more opportunities available for the people . New ventures, experiments and socialising happen in cities.
- Cities provide good facilities for education, medical treatments, job opportunities etc. With the kind of amenities available in a city it is more enjoyable.
- In cities people are vulnerable to many diseases because of their sedentary lifestyle and fast food intake. Lack of time for exercising also compromises on their health. In villages, people eat homemade food and quality of food is also good as they can get organic food
- In villages opportunities are very less The facilities and comfort are different
- The lifestyle is not advanced but the culture and attitude of people are very warm and helpful.
- In villages, people eat homemade food and quality of food is also good as they can get organic food .In villages transportation is still not good which is a blessing in disguise as a lot of exercising happens which helps them to remain fit and healthy. The villages are pollution free which adds up to their good health.
- शहरों में लोगों के लिए अधिक अवसर उपलब्ध हैं। शहरों में नए उद्यम, प्रयोग और सामाजिककरण होते हैं।
- शहर शिक्षा, चिकित्सा उपचार, नौकरी के अवसर आदि के लिए अच्छी सुविधाएं प्रदान करते हैं। किसी शहर में जिस तरह की सुविधाएं उपलब्ध हैं, वह अधिक सुखद है।
- शहरों में लोग अपनी गतिहीन जीवन शैली और फास्ट फूड के सेवन के कारण कई बीमारियों की चपेट में हैं। व्यायाम के लिए समय की कमी उनके स्वास्थ्य पर भी समझौता करती है। गांवों में, लोग घर का बना खाना खाते हैं और खाने की गुणवत्ता भी अच्छी होती है क्योंकि वे जैविक भोजन प्राप्त कर सकते हैं

3) List three changes that have come about in the lifestyle of the Hill Marias as a
result of contact with the outside world.

- The intervention of the state government and the voluntary agencies has exposed the Hill Marias to the outside world. This has brought about changes in their lifestyle.
- There is now a hospital, a school, vocational training centre and a fair price shop
- Though the tribals still visit their traditional healer, they also go to the hospital
- The school, 30-40 kms away, has attracted many boys and girls and they are doing well
- The villages of the tribals, which were inaccessible earlier, have been connected to the district by roads
- About hundred tubewells have been sunk and solar energy is being used in some villages
- There has been an attempt to change the practice of shifting agriculture to settled agriculture. Food habits have changed too.
