(C)Name of some diseases:-

(2)Some Nouns Singular in Form but Plural in Function
People, gentry(ଭଦ୍ର), clergy(ପାଦ୍ରୀ), police, infantry(ପଦାତିକ), cavalry(ଅଶ୍ୱାରୋହୀ |),poultry (मुर्गी पालन), cattle, vermin
Example —
- The Gentry of this town is/are very inteligent.(are)
- The Poultry is/are mine.(are)
- The Police is/are trying there level best to catch the theif.(are)
- Vermin do/does nuch harm to the crops.(do)
(3)Some Noun always Plural in Form and Function
(A) Name of some articles of dress :-
Breeches, clothes (=garments),pants, pyjamas,trousers, shorts, Underpants, jeans
(B) Name of some Tolls and Instruments :-
Bellows, binoculars, forceps, clippers, pincers, scissors, tongs, glasses, sunglasses, spectacles
Example —
- Scissors is/are lying on the table.(are)
(C) Some other Noun :-
alms(ଦାନ), belongings(ଜିନିଷ), breakables,bygones, congratulations, dues, earnings, fetters(बेड़ी) ,
handcuffs,intestines, remains, riches,credentials (ପରିଚୟପତ୍ର), surroundings,valuables.
Example —
- The Alms is/are given to the poor.(are)
- His mortal remails was/were sent to his village.(were)
(4)Some Nouns unchanged in singular and plural
(A) barracks(ବ୍ୟାରେଜ୍), corps, crossroad(ଛକ), innings, headquarters,precies (ପ୍ରାକ୍), series, species(ପ୍ରଜାତିଗୁଡିକ ),work (=factory).
Example —
- Our Barracks is newly constructed.
- All are Barracks are newly constructed.
(B) deer, sheep, swine,aircraft, craft(=boat/boats), issue(ସମସ୍ୟା),offspring(ବଂଶ).
Example —
One sheep, four Sheep
- I Saw Five sheep in the field
- I saw a sheep in the field.
- I have two offspring
- I have one offspring.
(5) The + Adjective = A Plural Noun
- The healthy = healthy people
- The living = living people
- The disabled(ଅକ୍ଷମ) = disabled people
- The sick = sick people
- The unemployed = unemployed people
- The rich = rich people
- The dumb(ମୁକ) = dumb people
- The deaf(ବଧିର) = deaf people
- The lame(ଛୋଟା) = lame people
- The poor = poor people
Example —
- The rich exploits/exploit the poor.(exploit)
- The old need/needs love and care.(love)
(6) Noun + preposition + (same) Noun + Singular verb
